You can continue to use older widgets by adding the Legacy Widget block to any sidebar.This can easily be done by installing and activating the Classic Widgets plugin .
Once activated, the plugin simply restores the older view of the classic widgets.
WordPress now supports WebP images by default
WebP is a new image format that reduces image file size by 25-34% compared to PNG and JPEG without sacrificing quality. This is a huge difference and can significantly increase the speed and performance of any website .
WordPress 5.8 now supports WebP images by default. This means you can store and upload your WebP images on your WordPress website without using a plugin.

Changes to the Media Library in WordPress 5.8
The WordPress Media Library no longer uses infinite scrolling to load images in the grid display. Instead, you will now see a Load more button to display more images.
