Checklist for On-Page Content and SEO
Without useful content and a great on-page experience, your site will struggle to rank and get organic traffic.
Make sure your site meets the criteria below. And focus on creating quality content for users rather than search engines.
- Find and Fix Duplicate, Missing and Truncated Title Tags
Optimized title tags are an important (and fundamental) aspect of SEO. In fact, they’re often the first thing SEO professionals look at to help a page rank.
Title tags inform search engines about the content of a page. They also determine whether the user will click on the page.
To absolutely avoid:
Duplicate title tags
Long title tags (must not exceed approximately 60 characters)
Missing title tags
You can quickly audit your title tags with Site Audit , under the " Issues " tab. Look for "Title Tags".

- Find and Fix Duplicate or Missing Meta Descriptions
Meta descriptions are not a direct ranking factor. But they help people understand what your page is about.

As with title tags, you should avoid:

Note : Google rewrites meta descriptions over 70% of the time to better match search intent. However, you should always write a meta description that encourages users to learn more.
